Retail developments

Morrisons Local Hope Park, Macclesfield

As part of our Award Winning Hope Park development this was one of the 1st (if not the first) New Build Morrisons Local Stores, the previous schemes had been in existing buildings. This was a massive challenge trying to satisfy both Morrisons technical brief and the local planning authority. We delivered a scheme that satisfied all the stakeholders and won a Civic Award for our contribution to the character of Macclesfield. The Steel Structure spanned the store and supports the 16 apartments constructed out of lightweight timber framing above. Keyworker, yet again, is delivering a Sustainable Solution. The store was constructed for Keyworker by Pochin Construction and began trading in November 2012.

Sainsbury’s Local Store, Newton Abbot, Devon

This is a perfect example of delivering Sustainable end uses to Listed Buildings. Please take time to appreciate the de-construction of a dilapidated building altered over time by the NHS and watch as it is re-constructed into 7,500 square feet of A1/A3 Retail space. Whilst the building was an enablement project to deliver the rest of the site, what it lacked in viability it gained in pride of putting this beautiful structure back into use. A big thank you to Teignbridge Council and their officers who had the “can do” attitude we rarely see in an authority. The Building also accommodates a Superdrug Pharmacy and has a further Vacant Unit looking for an occupier. The Sainsbury’s Store opened to customers in June 2013 the Pharmacy commenced trading in April 2014.

Please do take time to look at the transformation especially the last images showing the “before and after”

Retail development Nantwich, Cheshire

Keyworker looked to Eventus Properties to joint venture the acquisition of this derelict ex-medical centre in the centre of the beautiful Market Town of Nantwich. The property was a blight on the town and Keyworker worked closely with the Town Council, Civic Society and local planning authority to deliver a land mark building. To give it a sustainable future Keyworker negotiated with Marks and Spencer Simply Food to take a 15 year Lease. Keyworker tasked Pochin Construction with the build. The store opened in February 2013 and has been a terrific asset to the Town bringing additional footfall to the existing Town Centre.

Morrisons Local retail development Warley Road, Blackpool

This project has involved working with the Landowners and Blackpool Council to deliver this outstanding stand alone Local store Handed over to Morrisons in April 2014. Keyworker have carefully planned and consulted and, despite a wave of objections (including the local MP!!) negotiated a successful planning permission on this site of the former Nat West Bank.

It has been a challenging building over the winter facing the extreme of the Blackpool Coastal weather but Tyson Construction maintained programme and delivered the building within the desired time limits.

The end result is a spectacular contemporary building for all to see when driving up the Promenade in sunny Blackpool!!
